Accounts Receivable Professional at Main Office; Green Lake, Seattle
Full-time position, $19 – $21hr DOE, with benefits
Reports to Director of Administration
General Description
The Accounts Receivable Professional prepares and maintains counseling client records of the center and performs related financial tasks. This person prepares and maintains client insurance records, files insurance claims and manages account files and records. Working as a cross–functional office team member is an important aspect of this position.

- Record revenue on client accounts, day sheets
- Maintain payroll records
- Manage aged accounts
- Maintain records on contribution
- Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Maintain contributions records
- Prepare and File Insurance Materials
- Prepare and submit insurance claims
- Enter data on insurance records and medical billing
- Communicate with clients, staff and insurance companies about insurance claims/payments
- Maintain files on each insurance company
- Maintain client files on insurance claims and payment
- Send statements on outstanding accounts
- Prepare payroll documents for payroll administrator
- Welcome and orient new clients
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries and requests
- Schedule appointments
- Take and distribute messages for all staff
- Carry out other duties as assigned
Desired Education, Experience and Qualifications
- A degree from a college or university or comparable training program and/or experience in finances, especially in a medical-related field
- Two years minimum of office and financial experience
- Knowledge of bookkeeping principles, methods, and practices
- Experience with medical billing practices
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports
- Ability to use standard office equipment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to deal professionally and effectively with the public
- Demonstration of skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
- Proficiency with accounting and billing software (e.g. Quick Books, Medisoft, etc.)
- Ability to manage a wide variety of activities and functions simultaneously
- Access to reliable transportation
- Puzzle solving ability highly desired

Samaritan Center of Puget Sound provides individual, couple, family, and group therapy, as well as mediation, education and consultation. Our roots and tradition are in the Christian faith and we provide quality care for people of all backgrounds, faiths and lifestyles. Samaritan maintains 13 counseling offices in the Puget Sound region, primarily in space provided by our partner churches.
Our clinical staff includes marriage and family therapists, mental health counselors, social workers, pastoral counselors and psychologists. Each of our staff members is trained at a master’s or doctoral level and is licensed by the State of Washingon. All our therapists identify themselves as Christian.
Therapists are paid on a commission basis with benefits included. We welcome resumés from qualified therapists year-round and review them as positions open. Resumés are kept on file for one year.
