My approach to counseling

Having been trained as a marriage and family therapist, I hold a holistic perspective about health care. I am concerned with the overall, long-term well-being of individuals and their families. I believe that the “unit” of treatment isn’t just one person – even when I am working with an individual in the counseling session. It is about the numerous relationships within which that person lives. I use a mind/body approach to alleviate symptoms of distress, including depression and anxiety. I work with couples to strengthen communication skills, parenting skills, conflict resolution and coping skills. I also enjoy working with people with spiritual concerns.

I have experience in working with

Assisting individuals with mental health concerns and relationship concerns
Helping couples maintain their relationships through difficult times
Helping families with parenting skills
Assisting people with their spiritual journey
