My approach to counseling
I believe that our personal well-being is strongly influenced by the quality of our relationships and that we can choose to improve and strengthen these at any age. I work in a collaborative way with my clients to address symptoms of depression and anxiety, always holding in awareness their goals for counseling. I use a variety of therapeutic strategies ranging from intergenerational family systems to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
I have experience in working with
Individuals, Couples and Families to provide therapy that increases their ability to cope with difficult life problems so that they are better able to function at work, within their families and in other relationships.
Older Adults to provide individual therapy for those experiencing losses and life changes related to aging; couple therapy for those in long-term marriages and those who are remarrying; and guidance for families dealing with the issues of aging.
Divorcing, Single-Parent and Stepfamilies to provide support for those adjusting to these major life changes, helping them strengthen the skills needed for successful relationships and effective parenting.
